Hello, it's Amy from Delineate Your Dwelling. Â I'm so excited to be participating in Persia Lou's Handmade Holiday series. Â Today, I wanted to give you a peek into one of my family's Christmas Traditions. My family has a long history of crazy Christmas gift tags. Â And when I say crazy, I mean sometimes the gift tag is read aloud and no one has a clue who the gift is for. Â We spend hours thinking up code names for each other. Â I thought this year in addition to all the fun names, the gift tags and embellishments should be exciting, too! This year, I've decided to use a more neutral gift wrapping paper. Â I love that these four papers are so simple but very graphic in nature. a. newspaper b. black and brown polka dots c. brown and white polka dots d. black and brown moroccan Continue Reading

Gold Leaf Holiday Cards
Hi there, fellow Persia Lou readers! I'm Amy from Homey Oh My! and I blog about DIY home decorating and crafts. I'm super excited to be here as a contributor to the Handmade Holiday Series because I *adore* Alexis and her blog, just like you do :). Today, I'm sharing how I made these gold leaf holiday cards. My main goal with these cards was to make the design simple. Especially with how hectic this season gets, it's ideal for me to keep holiday DIY projects easy, although really... I like to keep all my projects easy. So for anyone looking to make quick and simple handmade cards, I've got your back with this one. What you'll need is a pencil, gold leaf pen (I used the one by Krylon), string or ribbon, and a pack of blank white cards. Now before you get started, it is Continue Reading
Countdown to Christmas Book Advent
It's December, friends! The countdown has officially begun. We started our Christmas tree advent calendar this morning, and tonight we will kick off the book advent that I have been wanting to do for years. Yay! I am so, so excited for this! If you haven't seen a book advent before, the idea is to wrap up twenty-four Christmas books, then open and read one each night before Christmas. We already had a good number of Christmas books that we have collected over the years, so I didn't have to buy too many to get twenty-four. I wrapped up a Bible for our twenty-fourth book so we can read the Christmas story on Christmas Eve. I printed off number tags that I attached to the books using washi tape (Numbering the books allowed me to spread out the new books so we don't get them all at Continue Reading

Snowy Pinecone Centerpiece: Guest Post by Toni from Sugar Tart Crafts
Hi there fellow holiday crafters! I'm Toni from over at Sugar Tart Crafts where I mostly blog about sewing tips, kids clothes, and pretty much anything else that will allow me to avoid the chores I should be doing. I was super flattered when Alexis asked If I'd like to be part of her Holiday series! She's just so awesome and creative, how could I say no?I wanted to stretch my creative muscles, and decided to share something a little bit outside my comfort zone. Home decor is definitely not my forte, and our apartment is sadly lacking in the festive decoration department. (sad. bland. white. bleh.) I love that this project can be used as either a centerpiece or a mini wreath depending on your decorating needs.Super cute right? And it definitely doesn't hurt that it's so easy it can be Continue Reading
Fabric Scrap Tree Craft: Guest Post by Allison from Freshly Completed
I’m so happy to be with you today sharing my homemade holiday craft. I’m Allison and I blog over at Freshly Completed. There you’ll find all things sewn, drawn, painted, baked, and inspirations from others. But getting on to my homemade craft for the holidays-- Right now I’m visiting family in northern Wisconsin and it is cold and there is snow all over the ground—mix that with the smells of homemade chex mix, the giggles of my children, being with family and I know the holidays are here. Isn’t it lovely? For my craft I wanted to make something simple, cute, and spend no money. A fun little repurposing project to hang on the wall to excite everyone for the holidays. Instead of my usual medium, sewing, I decided to do this project using just a glue Continue Reading
Rhinestone Crusted Ornaments with Glu6
Here's another way to dress up or update some old ornaments you have in your stash. When I was making my rhinestone crusted frame, I thought the same technique could make some awesome ornaments, but this time I really didn't want to go the hot glue route. Hot glue attached the rhinestones firmly, but because the glue hardens so quickly, I could only apply a small amount of glue at a time, which slowed the process down a bit.I decided to try out Glu6 (a new glue that I had received a free sample of) because it takes longer to cure, which allowed me to cover a much larger area with glue and made the project go much quicker. The glue held firmly, dried clear, and had a pleasant, citrus scent, BUT the coolest thing about this non-toxic glue is that it is made 100% from recycled Continue Reading
