Looking for St. Patrick's Day craft ideas for adults? Trendy St. Patrick's Day projects that celebrate the luck of the Irish with style? Then you are in the right place! Keep scrolling for some of my favorite green, gold, and rainbow crafts, DIYs, printables, recipes, and more for celebrating St. Patty's Day! A couple of weeks ago I decided that I was absolutely not doing any St. Patrick's Day projects. Because didn't we just do Christmas and New Years and Valentine's Day? Honestly, I just didn't see any reason to anything big. BUT. Then I remembered something. I remembered that it is my turn to host my Bunco group in March just a few days before St. Patrick's Day (Side note: My little sister says that belonging to a Bunco group officially makes me old). And hosting Bunco means Continue Reading

Baby Boy Nursery Reveal
All of a sudden my little baby is seven months old and not so little. I really don't know how that happened so quickly, but it did, and I figured I better hurry up and share his nursery with you guys before he has grown out of it. I'm not going to say this room is perfect. There are still several things I'd like to change (I'm looking at you, ugly rocking chair), but I am still really happy with the way it has come together. And since we used furniture we already had, we were able to completely change the look of the room for about 300 bucks. [Be sure to see my nursery mood board and the before pictures here.] Anyway. Come on in! Let's check it out. Of course, the cutest part of the whole room is my handsome little man. But, there's some other good stuff in here Continue Reading
What to do with Leftover Cake
Last week we celebrated my little sister's birthday at our house with some geeky board gaming and chocolate cake. Good times. When the night drew to a close, I sweetly reminded my dear sister to PLEASE take the cake home with her, but she still snuck out without it. So sneaky that one. Here's the thing: if there is cake in my fridge, it will be my breakfast. And then I will have to explain to my kids why mommy can have chocolate cake for breakfast but they can't. You see my problem. Fast forward a day and I'm thinking about what Valentine's Day treats I should make for some friends. "Too bad I can't just give them a half-eaten cake," I think to myself. Wait a tick - Lightbulb! - Maybe, just maybe I can give them my leftover cake! It just needs a clever disguise... Mwahahahaha! (If I Continue Reading
Simple Faceted Watercolor Hearts Anyone Can Make
This post was originally posted over at the fabulous Eighteen25 where I am part of the new creative team. (Still so excited about that!!!) These little hearts are so quick and simple, you still have plenty of time to whip some up for your Valentine. If you are thinking this project's not for you because you aren't an artist and you've never tried watercolor, stop thinking that right now! You can make this. You really can. Truly. All you need to achieve this cool effect is something you all probably have in your kitchen: plastic wrap! Here's how you do it: Gather Up Your Supplies: Watercolor Paper - I'd recommend 140 lb weight, which doesn't warp as much as lighter weightsWatercolors (tubes or pans - I even painted one with my daughter's dollar section Continue Reading

Valentine’s Day Mantel Update
Do you all decorate your home for the holidays? Outside of Christmas and Halloween, I've never done much in the way of decorating for holidays, but I'm starting to change my tune a bit. It's kind of fun to change things up a bit now and again, and decorating for the holidays is giving me an excuse to do just that. I think the trick is to only put up things that you wouldn't mind seeing around after the holiday has passed. Here's how my little "mantel" (aka shoe cabinet/console table in my entry way) is dressed up for Valentine's Day. I added just a couple simple little updates, but I'm liking it. The "love us" gilded canvas, faux shell piece, and little brass rhino normally hang out here, so all I added for this new look was a incredibly quick paper heart garland and a little heart Continue Reading

It doesn't cost you anything extra but helps to support Persia Lou. And don't worry, I only link to products I love. Last April, my husband and I put in new laminate floors in the first floor of our home. I was about seven months pregnant, and oh dear, did I get sore. But it was totally worth it because I love, love, love my floors. So much. Seriously my new favorite chores are sweeping and mopping. Anyway. One of the reasons I was so excited about the new floors was that it meant we needed a rug. Shopping time! Woot woot! After much internet browsing, I ended up picking this yellow and off-white ikat-y chevron number from RugsUSA. Here's what Continue Reading
