This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Prismacolor, but all my opinions are my own.
I’ve been getting into the coloring trend lately. Have you tried it? It’s a great way to relax and get a little bit of creativity into your day. And coloring with nice grown up markers or colored pencils is extra enjoyable.
I’ve been building up a nice little collection of adult coloring books, but I also love free pages too (duh), and Michaels has some great ones on their site. Click here and select “free pages” to download your own free Prismacolor coloring pages!
Anyway, as we all know, Valentine’s Day is coming up and I thought it would be fun to create a little coloring page as a gift for some friends. I absolutely love the idea of Galentine’s Day. And I love Leslie Knope and the crazy things she calls her best friend Ann. So I made a couple of coloring pages using two of my favorite Leslie pet names for Ann.
Because your friends need to know that they are poetic, noble land mermaids and beautiful tropical fish. They do!
You can print off the pages and color them yourself or you can leave them uncolored and package them up with some awesome markers for a sweet gift.
I picked up some Prismacolor markers at Michaels to give with the cards. There are so many great colors, it took me some time to decide which to get. And, of course, I used a coupon to save a few bucks. (Make sure to check out Michaels coupons for additional savings, in newspapers and online!)
I’ve tried some different techniques in my coloring, but brush tip markers are definitely my favorite. The brush tips give you the feeling of painting! And they blend really beautifully too.
I also love these pens for lettering. The brush tip gives you the ability to create super thin and thick strokes.
