I was really into 1950’s culture as a kid. When I turned 12, my best friend and I planned a joint birthday party with a 50’s theme. We instructed everyone to dress up in poodle skirts and 50’s gear, and we went to Sonic for burgers and shakes. (The employees were so shocked impressed that a bunch of kids would dress up to go to a fast food restaurant that they took a picture of us and we ended up in the company newsletter.) After shakes, we went back to my house and my friend and I performed a choreographed dance routine to “Love Potion No. 9” for our friends because that is a totally normal thing to do. And of course, OF COURSE, we watched Grease, a movie we were slightly obsessed with at the time.
Grease definitely has a soft spot in my heart. Just a few notes of one of the songs and I am hit hard with a strong blast of nostalgia. Watching it now, I have a few questions, not the least of which is why and how does that car FLY at the end?! But despite these concerns, I still enjoy watching the movie and you can bet I will be tuning into Grease Live tonight.
To celebrate this latest iteration of Grease, some of my bloggy friends and I have put together some Grease themed posts! And since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to make some Grease inspired Valentine’s cards! They are free for you to print off and give to your sweetie. Here’s what you’ll need to make your valentines:
- Printables! (My printables are free for personal use only. Please do not sell or redistribute them in anyway.) Download Tell me about it, Stud OR We go together like
- White Cardstock
- A2 Envelopes
- Paper Trimmer (optional)
- Scoring Board and Bone Folder (optional)
Just print the cards out, trim along the edges, fold it up, put it in an envelope, and seal it with a kiss! Happy Grease Live, friends!
Now, since we are all in agreement that Grease is still the word, here are a few more ideas that you might love! Check out these great posts from my friends:
