Simple Geometric Washi Heart Treat Bags

This post was sponsored by Target, but it is my 100% honest opinion that Target is awesome.
Make your own simple geometric washi heart treat bags for valentine's day

I’m a big Target fan. In fact, it is rare that I’m not there every week if not twice a week, and pretty much no Target trip is complete without a stop by the One Spot. My kids love to pick out a little toy or treat, and I like to search for holiday, home decor, and craft supplies. I have found so many great things there, and right now, there are loads of great supplies perfect for Valentine’s Day.

All of these lovely craft supplies – gel pens, paper straws, treat bags, burlap bows, rubber stamps, chalkboard tags, banner kits, and washi tape – it can all be picked up in the One Spot at Target for just one to three bucks. Total steal, right? You have to hit up your local One Spot quickly those because these goodies won’t last for long.

I decided to use my supplies to make some cute treat bags that would make a cute valentine to hand out or give away as a favor at a party. Here’s what you need to make your own:

Materials:

  • Paper Treat Bags (You can get them in white or kraft in the One Spot)
  • Washi tape in at least two colors (you want it to be the same width)
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Craft Knife
  • Cutting Mat
  • Eraser

Start by cutting your washi tape into triangles. To do this, place strips of tape on the cutting mat, and use the craft knife to cut the tape into squares first. Then, go back and cut each square in half diagonally.

When you have the triangles cut, lightly mark out the center of the treat bag so you can keep your heart straight on the bag.

Place one of each triangle to start the bottom of the heart. Alternate the two colors following the pattern.

Carefully erase the pencil lines, and your treat bag is all ready to fill. Fold the top over and close it on the back with another piece of washi tape.

I really like these for party favors, and the other One Spot supplies make cute and inexpensive party decor.

Happy Making!
