Dia de los Muertos Vignette and Book of Life Sweepstakes

*I received product from World Market for this post. Any opinions are all mine.

I’ve mentioned a few times how much I have been loving the look of Day of the Dead inspired pieces this year for Halloween. My kids have been begging me to get our house decorated for Halloween, and I used some of the Day of the Dead pieces I’ve made and purchase to create a little vignette in our entryway.

I started off by hanging my Dia de los Muertos inspired wreath, and then added a felt banner and framed crochet sugar skull.
World Market has some amazing Day of the Dead items in their Halloween Decor section, and I couldn’t help but pick up a few to add to my vignette. I got those amazing candles, sugar skull garland, and this sugar skull plate, which is my absolute favorite.

Finally, I added some pretty little cacti and feathers with spray painted gold tips.
Because I have been so into Day of the Dead this year, I have especially been looking forward to taking my kids to see The Book of Life movie that is coming out this Friday October 17.
I am so excited to see this movie! Here’s the scoop: The Book of Life is an animated Romeo and Juliet-inspired love story set during a Day of the Dead celebration: Manolo (Diego) is a young matador who wants to shed the expectations of his family to follow his dreams of being a musician and his best friend, Joaquin (Channing), is the successful pride of the town. They compete for the heart of Maria (Zoe). In order to win Maria’s heart and save her life, Manolo must face his greatest fears and follow his heart to rewrite his destiny.
In celebration of the film, Cost Plus World Market has created an amazing Book of Life Collection of exclusive toys inspired by the movie.
There are lots of fun toys in this collection, but my kids were most excited about the fun musical toys, especially that guitar!
Isn’t it purty? Don’t you love toys with great design? I really do – it makes me a little less grumpy when they get left out. 😉 I love the way it looks, and my son loves to play with it.

And – hey- I’ve got more good news. World Market is hosting an amazing Book of Life Sweepstakes!

You could win a trip to the Riviera Maya & FREE Movies for a Year! Amazing, right? Plus three first prize winners will get a $500 World Market gift card. I’m sure you all could put that to good use.

Anyone feeling lucky? Go enter! Good luck!
