My New (Very Messy) Craft Room
Hey guys!So... my family and I moved into a new home yesterday, and instead of unpacking one of the approximately 8,456,321 boxes laying around, I am writing this post because, you know, priorities.Anyway, a couple of months ago I shared my newly finished craft room with you all, and, guys - I LOVED that space. It brought new purpose and order to my life. Truly. And then about a two weeks after it was all finished, we decided to move.WaaaaaaahSo today, I'm introducing you to my beloved craft space's replacement.I mean. Gorgeous, right?Haha. So, it's a work in progress. Or, more accurately, a work about to be in progress. DIY Clipboard Art Display Wall
It's probably no surprise that my kids love to paint and draw and craft - just like their Mama! All that creating has left me with enough artwork to cover our refrigerator many times over. When I was planning to add a little crafting area for my kids within my new craft room, I decided to add a space to display the kids' most recent masterpieces.I picked up four clipboards and gave them a little makeover to fit in with the room. I started out by giving the clips a couple coats of shiny gold spray paint.A scrap piece of paper and painter's tape protected the rest of the clipboard. When the clips were dry, I added a block of black chalkboard paint to the bottoms of the clipboards.I didn't rub chalk on them because I liked the dark black look. If I decide to use them as ... Easy Washi Tape Storage
*This post contains affiliate links, which means if you click through and decide to make a purchase, I may make a small commission. Hey there! Today, I am sharing a little sneak peak of one of my favorite parts of my new craft space. This project is so super simple, I almost feel silly posting it. Almost. But I can't really feel silly sharing something that works, looks great, and is easy, can I?No, no I can't.Anyway - you all know that in a small room that has to a hold a lot of stuff, it's smart to get as much stuff as possible onto the walls. Make those walls WORK. So I designated the wall above a cabinet holding boxes of craft supplies as the washi tape storage space.I love my new washi tape storage because 1. it is pretty, 2. I can see all of my tapes all the ... [Read More]
Marble Paper Filing Cabinet
Last week I was working like crazy to get my new craft space/office/library/kids' space all finished up. It is done and I LOVE it. I will be sharing a full tour soon, but in the meantime I wanted to share one of my favorite DIYs from the room with you all today.A couple months ago I posted a round up of some amazing marble paper DIYs. Around the same time, I ordered some marbled paper from Paper Mojo, but I still hadn't done much with it. I decided to use my favorite piece to fancy up our plain cheap-o filing cabinet. The lighting in that photo is pretty horrible, but can you tell how gorgeous that piece of paper is? It is really so gorgeous - the metallic gold and inky black! I just love it. I'm so happy that gorgeous piece of paper has a happy permanent home in my craft space ... [Read More]
Drop It (Like It’s Hot) Hexagon Tray
When my husband gets home, the first thing he does is empty his pockets. All the coins, pens, receipts, wallet, keys - all that junk gets dropped on pretty much whatever counter or table top is nearest. NOW, I know I have my annoying habits, so I try not to make a deal of it; however, this kind of makes me crazy.I decided I wanted to make him a little tray for him to drop all of his stuff in, thinking that if it's in a cute little tray maybe I will feel less crazy. Maybe. So when imagining what I wanted this little "drop tray" to look like, all I could think of was "drop it like it's hot," which is, yeah, a little weird, but I just went with it. So without further ado, I give you: Drop It (Like It's Hot), A Hexagon Tray.I had picked up a couple of these little hexagon-shaped ... [Read More]
