stIt was my turn to host my Bunco group this month, and I wanted to share the St. Patrick’s Day themed prizes I made up for the winners and losers (yes, the loser gets a prize in our group, which is the only reason I have ever won anything). I shared a sneak peek of these over on instagram yesterday, but here’s a bit more detail.
I was so happy with my little prizes, and I thought they could also be great little gifts for friends, teachers, neighbors, etc. – anyone who needs a little extra love this time of year.
I picked up a couple of green nail polishes and tied on those adorable printable tags from Eighteen25. Man I love their prints. Seriously they have the cutest stuff.
Next up, I have been really excited about bright, bold lip color lately, so I thought a few lip goodies would be cute packaged up with a “Kiss Me I’m Irish” tag.
I used this box from the Silhouette Online Store, and I added a print and cut label. (You can download my print and cut label HERE if you’d like). I put in some chapstick and lip gloss and tied it up with a little baker’s twine.
For the pot of gold prize, I started off with a little terracotta pot. I used the Martha Stewart Glitter Paint (affiliate link) for the first time, and I think I kind of love it. It takes a couple of coats to get nice glitter coverage, but when it is all done, the glitter is pretty permanent and won’t come off.
There’s the pot after one coat of paint. It took me three coats to get really good coverage.
When my pot was all gold and sparkly, I filled it up with lots of gold goodies I had picked up for cheap. A super awesome gold journal for $3 from Target (in the dollar bins), some glittery gold clothespins from the Michael’s dollar bins, a bunch of Rolos, and a couple of pencils I turned to gold with my Midas touch. (I’m magic, guys.)
I got these pencils from the dollar bins (I think there were 8 in the pack) a few months ago. To get them all golden, I covered the erasers with tape and gave them a quick coat of spray paint. Then I gave them a thin coat of the Martha Stewart Glitter Paint to add some extra sparkle. (P.S. I need to make more of these pencils for myself right away.)
I tucked all of my goodies into the little pot with a Pot of Gold print and cut tag (you can get that Silhouette file HERE). And that’s it!
I know St. Patrick’s Day is not really a gift-giving holiday, but I am a big fan of just-because gifts. I think when a person isn’t expecting anything, even the littlest thing can really brighten up their day.
What do you think of this kind of gifting? Whom would you give one of these little pick-me-ups to?
Linking up at some of my favorite parties.

Love the pot of gold and that polish idea! I'm pretty much a polish freak so that's a really perfect little gift!
