Free Printable Popcorn Box and Brazilian Themed Movie Night

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® Pop Secret and Fox Entertainment, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia  #PopForRio2 https://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Did you guys watch the World Cup? It was kind of a big deal in our house, that is, until Brazil got slaughtered by Germany, at which point, we kind of went into mourning. (I’m only half joking.) My husband spent two years in Brazil serving a mission for our church, and had us all rooting for them. Watching the World Cup was a great opportunity to talk with our kids about different countries, and my kids have become very interested in Brazil since.
With Rio 2 coming out on DVD, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to have a Brazilian themed movie night.
I went to Walmart and picked up Rio 2 and some Pop Secret Popcorn (by the way, you can get a coupon for $1 off Pop Secret Popcorn, while supplies last!). We also decided to get some Brazilian takeout for dinner to make it extra special. We got different savory pastries to try including coxinhas, pastels, and risoles.
And, of course, no Brazilian themed party is complete without some Guarana soda. Honestly, it’s not my favorite, but the kids sure like it. After dinner, we watched Rio 2 and enjoyed some yummy movie snacks.
I made individual popcorn boxes for everyone to make our movie night a bit more special. I’m not sure why exactly, but there is definitely something about an individual serving size in a pretty container that makes popcorn extra special.
I designed the popcorn boxes using feathers to go with our Brazilian/Rio 2 theme.
Two sides of the boxes say “pipocas,” which means popcorn, and is quite possibly my favorite Portuguese word. Pipocas! Just try to say it and not smile. I dare you.
To make your own popcorn boxes for your movie night, here’s what you will need:
  • Two copies of my printable in pink or blue.
  • scissors
  • glue
  • ruler or straight edge
  • bone folder or mechanical pencil
  1. Start by cutting out both box halves.
  2. Score along fold lines using a ruler and bone folder. If you don’t have a bone folder, you can use a mechanical pencil with no lead, as I did.
  3. Fold along score lines.
  4. Glue the two halves together to form a tube.
  5. Glue the bottom flaps together to finish the box.
And that’s it! Write everyone’s name on their box and enjoy the movie!
