Today I’m excited to be teaming up with six other bloggers to share fun Easter projects! Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of this post to see what Easter creations my friends have been working on.
When I finished up my embroidered Happy Spring banner for my latest mantel update, I knew I needed another little Springy/Easter art or decor. When I started brainstorming ideas, I thought of bunny art, and then geometric bunny art, which led to the idea of tangrams. Tangrams!
Yes, this is my second tangram-related post in the past couple weeks, but it was just so simple and cute, and I really like it, so there. 🙂
This project literally takes about five minutes. It went something like this:
- Find cute scrapbook paper.
- Cut out tangram shapes.
- Glue tangram shapes onto background paper.
Yeah, it’s pretty complicated. But, isn’t it the case that sometimes the simplest projects are your favorites? I just love this simple little bunny. And since I used my Silhouette to cut out my shapes it took next to no time to make. (P.S. You can get that Silhouette file right HERE. Yay!)
If you are cutting by hand, just print out any tangram template and arrange your shapes into the bunny shape, like this:
I tried out a few different paper pattern and color combinations. I liked this combo ^ a lot, but decided I wanted more color in my little “mantel” vignette.
Here’s how it all looks together:
I also whipped up a little pink, fluffy picture holder for my bunny to rest on (I will maybe work up a quick post about in the next week or so).
And that’s it! Want more lovely Easter projects? Of course you do! Come check out these wonderful Spring projects from some of my bloggy BFFs. I’m sure they would love it if you stopped by and said hi.

Love this! I love the geometric shapes, so cute!
What a fun way to use shapes to make a bunny design! I LOVE THIS! How in the world did you have the back drop? The circle garland is GORGEOUS! xo-Brook<br />
Thanks so much, Brook! That backdrop is one of my favorite projects ever. It is my faux shell wall hanging and you can get the tutorial for it here: http://persialou.blogspot.com/2011/07/faux-shell-wall-hanging.html
SO cute, ESPECIALLY with that pom pom photo holder!! I like the teal and feather combo a lot too, but I've also been really into floral lately (Spring. Figures.)
So simple and cute! You are right the simple projects are always my faves 🙂
This turned out so cute Alexis and I love the Amy Tangerine paper! I'm considering buying a fake mantle just to decorate because mine has a big TV above it and doesn't photograph well.
I love this! The paper with the blue is so pretty!
Love this! A must make for easter…do you mind if I borrow one of your pics on my blog…I am featuring you as one of the blogs I love!!
Of course not! Thanks so much, June! 🙂
Yay, this looks so easy and yet it's such a pretty design! Love it! Pinned 🙂
Your entire spring mantel looks great!! I love this bunny art, super unique and original. Great job 🙂
