Crocheted Hemp Scrubbies – Free Pattern

Crochet hemp scrubbies - hemp is naturally antibacterial, which makes these little scrubby pads perfect for cleaning!

This post was originally created by me for Darice. I love today's free crochet pattern because it is quick, easy, and useful! Like, really useful. These pretty little crocheted hemp scrubbies are the perfect things for scrubbing up your dirty dishes and anything else that needs a good scrub. I'm convinced that hemp is best material for making scrubby pads, and here's why: hemp is naturally antibacterial. So cool, right? That means these scrubbies won't be all stinky and gross. The other great thing about hemp cord is that it comes in lots of colors so you have lots of pretty options. ... [Read More]

Thanks to Knit Picks for providing the yarn for this project. This post also contains affiliate links for your convenience. Thanks!I am so happy with how today's crochet project came out, and I am excited to share it with you all today! This cute little heart-shaped pillow is part of our Blog Hop Crochet Along. Each of our eight bloggers has come up with a new hexagon pattern as well as a project to make with those hexagons. After checking out my pillow tutorial, be sure to scroll to the end to see all of the other bloggers' projects! Materials: Worsted weight yarn (I used Knit Picks Brava acrylic yarn - less than one ball each of Seashell, Dove Heather, and Denim, and about two balls of Solstice Heather) Crochet Hooks [I used hooks ranging from size G (4.00 mm) to K (6.500 ... Modern X Crochet Pillow Pattern

Make your own modern pillow with this simple crochet pillow pattern! This pillow has a fun graphic look, but uses only basic crochet stitches. This post contains affiliate links, which help to support this site. Thanks! I'm really excited about this little crochet pillow pattern I have to share with you guys today. Sometimes I have these ideas pop into my head, but they don't always work out. This one did! Woot! My goal in my crochet projects is almost always to make something modern - maybe even something somewhat sophisticated - something that I would want to buy if I saw it in a store. This pillow is checking all of those boxes for me. When I showed it to my husband, he said it looked expensive, which was pretty much the best thing he could have said. Yay! Totally made my ... Crocheted Wire Lettering

This project was originally created by me for Darice, and contains affiliate links. Thanks for supporting Persia Lou! About the beginning of the year I read a Home Decor Trend report that listed all of the trends that would be on their way out in the new year. One of those listed in the "Not" column of this hot or not list was typography and word art. I just - No. I will not give up my words and letters and pretty typography. I may be the lamest, but I will continue with my lettering and word art (like this, this, and this). This project was a new word art technique for me. There are lots of wire words and yarn-wrapped wire word projects out there, and this is my spin on it. I decided to crochet around the wire, and I really like the look it created. Materials: Yarn - ... [Read More]

Jute Bobble Basket – Free Crochet Pattern

*This post was originally created by me for Darice. This post may also contain affiliate links for your convenience. Thanks for supporting Persia Lou! The New Year seems to bring with it a surge of purging, cleaning, and organizing. Maybe it comes in reaction to the excess of the holiday season or just as part of the optimism of a new start, but either way, my instagram and facebook feeds are telling me that I'm not the only one in a throw it out, clean it up, and put it away kind of a mood. The older I get the more I realize the wisdom of "a place for everything and everything in it's place," which means I'm finding more and more that I need places to put things. Enter pretty baskets, totes, and boxes - I can't seem to get enough! This little crochet basket will happily hide ... [Read More]

Crochet Pineapple Washcloth and Applique

*This post contains affiliate links, which means if you click through and decide to make a purchase I may make a small commission. It doesn't cost you anything extra and helps out Persia Lou, and don't worry, I only link to products I use and love. Pineapples are a huge trend right now, and it's one that I am totally on board with. I've been wanting to make a cute pineapple project for a while now, and here it is: crochet pineapple washcloths! Washcloths are a perfect little crochet project because they work up quickly, but a simple square can be kind of boring - pineapple shaped washcloths to the rescue! You can work up these pineapples in two-tones (with a different colored top) or in one solid color. I think a few of these little guys would make an adorable gift, but ... [Read More]

Geometric Crochet Basket Pattern

If you've been around here much you probably have noticed that I've been into black and white geometrics lately. (Did you see my kid's new table, by the way?)  So, anyway, I decided to see how I could interpret the trend in crochet. I ended up with this little basket that is a perfect addition to my craft area, which I am currently working on organizing and sprucing up.   This basket has lots of fun texture, so while it may look complex, it really only uses variations of the single crochet. Simple! You can totally make this. Geometric Crochet Basket Pattern Materials needed: Cotton worsted weight yarn in two colors (I used one ball each of Lily Sugar N' Cream in black and white) Size H (5.00 mm) crochet hook Leather Thread Sewing Machine or Needle With the ... Crochet and Cross-Stitch XO Pillows

This post was originally shared on Craftaholics Anonymous. So, I shared my son's nursery reveal last week, and my kids' rooms are both officially complete and pretty great (if I do say so myself). But then there is our sad Master Bedroom. Anyone else have this problem in their house? Why does the Master always seem to be the last room in the house to get done? Anyway - When it comes to decor and design, our bedroom has definitely been one of the most neglected spaces in our home. I did put some effort into it a couple of years ago, but since then I've decided the neutral gray and white thing I was going for is less "simple" and more "boring." Time for an update! I really love bedding that looks collected and unique, and I am trying to avoid the coordinated bed-in-a-bag look. Some ... [Read More]

Chunky Feather and Fan Crochet Blanket: Free Pattern

Make your own beautiful Feather and Fan Crochet Blanket. This free chunky afghan pattern works up quickly and has lots of great texture. This post contains affiliate links for your convenience. See my full disclosure policy here. Welcome to Persia Lou! If you are new here, you may want to check out some of my other free crochet patterns right HERE. Or sign up for my newsletter to keep up to date on new posts. One day I hope that I can really figure knitting out. I've tried a few times, but it seems that my fingers just don't really work that way. I always end up going back to my trusty hook. But sometimes when I really love the look of a knit object or technique, I try to create a crochet version. Once upon a time a saw a knit throw made using a lace stitch called the feather ...
