If you have orange peel or textured walls, you know how difficult it can be to get perfect paint lines. Today, I'm sharing my favorite products and best tips for getting perfectly crisp paint lines the first time around. This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape®. All opinions are 100% mine. We moved into a new home a couple of months ago, and since then there has been A LOT of painting going on. Paint is definitely the easiest and most inexpensive way to quickly transform a space, and we have absolutely been putting it to work in our new home. Most of the house has been getting a fresh start with a coat of bright white paint, but there are a few spaces in the house I wanted to use paint to bring in some color. One of those spaces is the powder room, which has been ... [Read More]

Staining and Updating Bathroom Cabinets
This was actually one of the first projects we finished in our bathroom renovation. In fact, we did this before I was really back into a blogging state of mind, so I don't have tons of in-progress photos, but I think it's still worth sharing if just for the transformation. This was a project where I really had to convince my husband to give it a go. He often likes to complain to our friends that I want to paint or stain every piece of wood in our house. That is not entirely true. I just kind of hate the honey-colored wood tone of all the built-in cabinets in our home. Here's a crappy MLS before shot of the bathroom, but you get the idea. Boring, builder-grade cabinets. Our bathroom was sad, and those cabinets were just bringing the whole place down. But I knew that with a little ... [Read More]
Installing Penny Tile Floors Part Two and Bathroom Progress
Check out part one of our bathroom floor progress here. Our Master Bath is really coming along, and I am so excited about the progress so far. My husband claims he will never lay tile again, but I'm counting on him forgetting that by the next time we are ready for this kind of project. ;) The thing about tile is that you have significant wait times between each part of the progress, so it can take a while to finish the job. We were sharing a bathroom with our kids for about four days, but I think it was worth it. Our adhesive had to set for at least 18 hours before we could grout it, and then the grout had to set for 24 hours before it was dry. The picture below shows the flooring partially grouted: It's not necessary, but it can be fun to mix your grout up in a cute little ... [Read More]
Installing Penny Tile Floors Part One
This is what my bathroom/bedroom looks like right now. That's real life, folks. Real, messy life. We've been slowly remodeling our Master bathroom over the past couple months. Yay! I wasn't being a good blogger when we started this project, so I don't have an excellent before picture, but I did scrape up this realtor photo from when we bought the house: Yes, ladies and gents, that's carpet in the bathroom. Why, oh, why do they do this? Next to the bath tub? Why?! So, nearly four years later the carpet (and the lovely linoleum in the WC) are no more. (You may notice that the cabinets are looking a bit different from that before photo too. I'll have to do a post on that project soon.) We chose a white porcelain penny tile for the bathroom floors. I have always loved that ... [Read More]
