This post contains affiliate links, which help to support this site at no extra cost to you. Today, I'm happy to share a great technique with you guys. We are going to be talking all about how to make your own stencils that you can use over and over again. I often will use adhesive vinyl to make stencils (like I did here), and I'm a big fan of vinyl stencils; however, they can only be used once. Sometimes you want stencils that can be used over and over again, and that's where stencil material comes in. I love using stencil material to stencil a larger area or for multiple projects. It just makes it ... [Read More]

make your own adorable palm leaf school supplies with this free template - adorable pencil pouch and notebook

Paint your own palm leaf pencil pouch! You can easily add tropical flair to any bag with multi-surface paint. Use it to store school supplies, makeup, or anything you like! A big thanks to DecoArt for sponsoring this post, which may also include affiliate links. See my full disclosure policy here. It may still be the middle of summer, but the back to school supplies are on the shelves, which means it is a dangerous time for me to make a target run. I was there a few days ago and I had to buy some new tapes, makers, scissors, and more. The lady who checked me out asked, "School supplies already?" And I had to admit they were for me, not the kids. Ha! While I was there I found a bunch of blank or nearly blank pouches and notebooks to decorate for the upcoming school year and for, ... One of the things I'm extra good at is killing plants. Wah wah. Everyone's like, "Oh, get a cactus they are so easy to take care of!" And, "try a succulent! They are impossible to kill." Friends, let me tell you - they are not impossible to kill. Many succulents and cacti have come to my house to die. Sad face. It's something I'm working on. In the meantime, I still love the look of plants in my home. So, what's a girl with a black thumb to do? Faux to the rescue! Floracraft just ... [Read More]

A Girly Painted Onesie

Lately, it's unusual for me to go a whole month without going to a baby shower. I went to a shower for a baby girl a couple nights together and decided to whip up a girly version of the painted patterned onesies I made the other day. (You can find a simple tutorial here) Here she is! What do you all think? I'm having a lot of fun with this technique. Now I've got to whip up some big kid versions for my older two.   Linking up at some of my favorite parties.   ... [Read More]

Easier Than Applique Painted Patterned Onesies

Recently, I was getting a gift ready for a baby shower and I had a white onesie that I wanted to applique a bow tie onto. But I didn't have any wonder under and I have had trouble doing applique on knits without wonder under. And then I thought, "Well, I have freezer paper." The thing that is so fun about applique is the patterned fabrics you can use, right? Well, why not create a pattern with paint? This might not be groundbreaking stuff, but it was a total Aha! moment for me. I think it creates a cool effect, and it was definitely easier for me than the applique route. Plus I can create any pattern I want regardless of what options I have in my fabric stash. Here's how we do it: Start off by finding some images you like and print them off. You can print directly onto freezer paper, ... [Read More]
