Persia Lou

Creative. Crafty. Fun.

Crushing On

You know how sometimes you feel like you are working an awful lot but don’t have much to show for it? That’s kind of how I have been feeling this week. I’ve been crocheting and painting my little fingers off, and soon I will have lots of great projects to share, but nothing today.

So, even thought I don’t have a tutorial or pattern or printable today, I still wanted to pop in and say hi and share some of the things I’ve been crushing on lately. Maybe we will make this more of a regular thing. Who knows? 😉 (P.S. This post contains some affiliate links.)

Crochet Crush – Lutter Idyl

Via Lutter Idyl
I recently discovered the beautiful crochet work of Jeanette Bøgelund Bentzen, and it is amazing. Amazing. I just really wish that I could read Danish because I’m having a hard time figuring out how to get her gorgeous book sent to me in the States. Sometimes crochet gets a bad wrap for being chunky and stiff unlike its more graceful, softer cousin, knit, but Ms. Bentzen totally defies that stereotype with delicate yet modern patterns that have me swooning. Go browse around Lutter Idyl for lots of yarny inspiration.

DIY Crush – Floating Frame Tutorial from Home Made by Carmona

I tried something similar to this with the Geometric Art I made last year, but I really want to try out Ursula’s method. This project is jumping to the front of my to-do list. I recently picked up this super cool watercolor buffalo canvas from World Market (you may have seen it on instagram), and I know this floating frame is going to take it from nice to WOW. Get the tutorial HERE.

Hand Lettering Crush – In a Brush

In a Brush is a tumblr run by Colin Tierney, and it is a great place for hand lettering inspiration. I really love the gifs so I can see the artists practicing their craft, plus each image has sources, so you can find new pens to try out!

Instagram Crush – Lines Across

I’ve been a fan of Rachel from the blog Lines Across for a while now, but lately I’ve been super impressed with her beautiful instagram feed. I love how she is turning it into an expressive medium instead of just promoting the latest blog post. It’s inspiring me, oh and so is this great post she just published yesterday on being aimlessly creative (love that idea!).

Product Crush – Heart Wall Clock by The Sweet Escape

I saw this clock on instagram the other day – I think Hello Lidy shared it – and I immediately bought it. Like from my phone. Which I never do, but I knew if I didn’t get it right then I would either forget or talk myself out of it, and I also knew it would go perfectly over the door that leads out of the kitchen into the garage, annnnnnd guess what? It totally does look perfect there. Score! Check out The Sweet Escape shop HERE.

Yarn Crush – Knit Picks

I have long been a fan of Knit Picks, so I am really excited that they will be sponsoring our next Blog Hop Crochet Along. Yay! I just got the yarn in the mail a couple of days ago, and I am so excited to work with it. I love their yarn because it is quality, affordable, and comes in such bright, beautiful colors. If you are a crocheter, be sure to join our Blog Hop CAL FB group so you don’t miss out on any updates!
Well, that’s it. What have you been crushing on lately?
