Christmas is coming, and you know what that means – time to wrap some gifts!
I LOVE cute wrapping paper and gift tags and ribbons and bows, so I love to create my own wrapping designs and share the printables here with you all!
Last year I shared some hand-lettered printable Christmas gift tags, and they were some of my very favorite printables, so this year I wanted to share some more designs!
This year our Christmas is going mostly pink, white, and black. It’s not the most traditional of color schemes, but I am pretty crazy for it.
My pink tree is pretty much my favorite thing in the world right now. I will show it off a bit around here next week I think. (UPDATE: You can check out our pink Christmas decorations here.)
These printable tags are a graphic black and white with a brush stroke feel to the lettering. There are four whole pages worth of tags – 20 designs in total – so there are plenty of options for your gift wrapping needs!
How to Make Your Own Black and White Gift Tags
It’s super easy to make your own black and white Christmas tags with these printables! I also have instructions on how to use these designs for amazing foiled tags, so keep on reading for that.
First, you will need to gather up just a few supplies.
Black and White Christmas Tag Supplies:
- Cardstock – I used white and black, but choose any color you like
- Scissors
- Hole Punch
- String or Baker’s Twine
- My Black and White Christmas Tag Printables (You can download the printables from the link at the end of this post)
Step One. Print.
Print off the tags on nice, heavyweight cardstock. I recommend white for that classic black and white look, or you can try colored paper as well.
Step Two. Cut.
Just use a pair of sharp scissors to cut along the outside edge of each tag, and then punch a hole at the top with your hole punch.
Step Three. Add Twine.
Finally, finish off your tags by looping through a piece of twine or ribbon. After that they are all ready to add to your gifts!
I love the look of black and white, but if you want to add extra shine, these designs work great for foiled tags as well!
How to Make Foiled Christmas Gift Tags
It takes just one or two additional steps to turn these free printable tags into beautifully foiled gift tags in any color you like!
Foiled Christmas Tag Supplies:
- Minc Foil Applicator or Thermal Laminator
- Laser Printer (You must have a printer that uses toner for the foiling to work. Tags printed with an inkjet will not work with the foil)
- Minc Reactive Foil
- Cardstock – I used white and black
- My Gift Tag Printables (You can download them from the link at the end of this post)
Step One. Print.
You can print your tags on any color cardstock you like, but I will say I love foiling on black cardstock because any small parts of toner that don’t stick to the foil easily blend in with the background color.
Remember that you do need to print your designs with a laser printer in order for the foiling to work. The reactive foil sticks to the printer toner, and it won’t work with an inkjet printer.
Step Two. Foil.
After your designs are printed, cover them with a piece of reactive foil (shiny side up), and then run them through your Minc foil applicator or thermal laminator.
After it has cooled, peel off the foil to reveal your beautifully foiled designs!
Step Three. Cut and Add Twine.
Finally, cut out your foiled tags just as you would the regular printed tags.
And then they are ready to tie on to all of your beautifully wrapped gifts!
Kind of awesome, right? I especially love the look of foil on black cardstock. It just looks so sharp.
