I’ve mentioned a few times here and there that I’m currently (finally) giving our Master Bedroom some love, and my latest project has been creating a new gallery wall.
Our Master Bedroom has a HUGE blank wall on one side. Guys – I mean big. And empty. At least, it was empty. Enter the gallery wall.
I have always loved the collected look of gallery walls. Especially ones that cover entire walls – floor to ceiling, wrapping around doorways and furniture. Eventually, I want that full look for my bedroom wall.
The problem is that it is not so easy to collect that much great art! I’ve been saving and making things for months, but I still needed MORE. So, when Art Crate offered to send me a few prints to try out their monthly hand-selected art service, I was definitely interested. Here’s how it works: you fill out a style survey to help the Art Crate curators figure out what would work best in your home, then every month you receive a new print in the mail! The easiest way ever to grow your art gallery, right? And if for any reason, you don’t like the print you get, you can send it back for free. Easy Peasy.
Wanna see the prints the picked for me? Of course you do!
I received the watercolor feather (that’s my fave), the pink and green watercolor hearts, and the gorgeous geometric print in the middle. They totally nailed me with the pretty watercolors, and I think the geometric print provides a great contrast.
Also – the paper quality of these prints is off the charts. When Art Crate says they use premium paper for their prints, they aren’t kidding. Can you see the beautiful linen texture on this watercolor feather?
Art Crate packages each print with a little card about the artist who made it, and on the back side that cute little Kitty will help you return the print for free if you aren’t in love with it. I love that.
But since Art Crate uses your answers to their decor style survey to pick the perfect prints for you, I’m guessing Kitty doesn’t have too much work to do. (P.S. If you think this Art Crate thing sounds awesome – keep reading! There may be a giveaway in your future!)
I filled in the rest of my new gallery wall with a thrifted paint-by-number, an old Georgia O’Keefe print, some of my own art and lettering (like my pixel painting and some others I will be sharing more about soon), and a piece I received from Vincent Serritella as part of his Project 365.
And can I just say – Guys. Gallery Walls – not so easy. I mean seriously. I probably spent at least three hours laying things out on the floor, moving things around, taping paper to the walls…
Art Crate sent me prints for review, but I was not compensated for this post. I just though it was a really cool service you all would enjoy.
