Once upon a time, we bought a cute little round dining table at a thrift store. We refinished that little table, and I loved it. Then, all these kids showed up, and it was just too small. We needed a bigger table. So, my dear husband took boxes and boxes of outdated work papers to the recycling center, got 50 bucks for them, stopped by the RC Willey Clearance Center on the way home, and bought a table. It is the perfect size for our dining area, but that is really the best thing it has going for it. I am so ready for it to go away.
So, of course, I have been contemplating my DIY options. There are so many amazing DIY dining tables out there, and I rounded up some of my favorites to share with you all.
If/when I build our dining room table I’m thinking I would like something with metal legs and a wood top. I just love that combo. Here are some faves that rock that look:
If I was feeling a bit more ambitious and ready to finally get over my fear of power tools, I may go for an all wood table like this gorgeous West Elm Knockoff from my friend, Katie.
Or, if I wanted to do something a bit different, how about this concrete table idea?
I’m not sure about cleaning fingerprints off a glass table, but I love the base on this one.
And finally, this table from the Hunted Interior is such a fun idea! She created the look of a live edge table by sanding away the edges of the wood. Cool, right?
So, what do you all think? Which is your favorite?

Alexis, I love this round up! We have been building our first table and I used a lot of these for inspiration. Now I just have to decide how to finish it–any tips?
